Ams' December reports

Firstly Charlton at home at the start of the month.
I was lucky enough to witness this game in the flesh with Ams Junior.
Sat on the BLUT for the first time in years. The view from up there is amazing! I'd recommend any Blades fan to give it a go up there.
The game itself was pretty much dominated by the Blades. Typically Charlton stunned us with a goal on the break. They hadn't looked like scoring before then and they never looked like scoring after that either.
Fortunately, all the Blades pressure paid off 2nd half with agreat headed goal from Morgan and then a peach of a last minute winner from Keef with a volley from the edge of the box, which brought the house down.
Great trip to the lane for me and the lad.
Next we entertained Villa at the Lane in another entertaining match live on Sky on a monday evening.
We went behind to yet another early goal only 2 mins into the game from Petrov. The Blades fought back though and equalised through Stephen Quinn's first ever goal for us on 50 mins. To say the lad was a bit happy is the understatement of the year!
We then took the lead through a great little backwards flick into the net from Danny Webber on 64 mins. Unfortunately, straight from the kick off Villa equalised as we were caught a bit cold.

Still, an entertaining game and a good point.
Next we had a difficult fixture at Wigan.
Another good professional performance from the Blades produced another 3 points.
Hulse scored right on half time and United held on comfortably for the 3 points.
Then followed a tricky trip to Portsmouth.
Pompey have had a good season so far, but the Blades dominated the first half and scored a good headed goal by Hulse from a pin point cross from Geary.
The second half was a different matter though with Pompey equalising through a lucky(unlucky for us) own goal from Jags and then scoring 2 more direct from corners.
I felt like we had been mugged at the end of the game. Set pieces and luclky goals apart we matched them in all departments and should have left with at least a point, in my opinion.
Finally we hosted Man City on Boxing Day.
A real 6 pointer this game.
City came to defend and United battered them the whole game without actually scoring.
Typically, City had one good chance and scored from it, totally against the run of play.
How we did not score, I do not know and again it felt like we had been mugged.
All in all, not a bad month so far.
2 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats.
Would have looked lots better though with something from the Man City game, but 20 points from 20 games is what many of us would have hoped for before the season started.
Just Arsenal to go now to finish off December.
How sweet 3 points from this game would be all Blades fans.
