Ams' Blades v Reading Report

This is going to be short and not very sweet.

Probably our worst performance of the season. The only players to come out of it with any merit were Hulse, Bennett, Gillespie and Quinn.

Reading looked a good side and caught us cold right from the kick off.
We never seemed to recover from that and then conceded another.

After the break, with a couple of needed substitutions, we played a lot better, but it was a case of too little too late.

A few things I hope Neil and the other coaches learned:

Jags should play centre half, NOT midfield.
Unsworth needs dropping.
Armstrong should play left back with Quinn on the left wing.
Ifill needs to produce the goods very soon, otherwise the shirt will go to Gillespie or Kazim.

Our injury situation has been a major factor this season and we have had more than our fair share of them so far, but that still does not excuse those who were on the pitch last saturday.

I'm hoping we see Davis back for the Arsenal game alongside Jags or Short, with Quinn on the left with Armstrong behind him.
Add to that Nade alongside Hulse and we shouldn't disgrace ourselves at the Emirates.

It is still early days yet and calls for Warnock to be replaced are quite frankly ridiculous at this stage, but we need to find a settled team soon, and one where people are playing in their correct positions.

Ian - Ams.
